Jay-Z and Beyoncé both made news today. Jay-Z threw a surprise virtual listening party that's got fans buzzing about new music, and Beyoncé dropped a surprise reissue of one of her most iconic albums, with a few brand new songs nobody saw coming. Here's what's actually going on with each of them.

What Jay-Z Did

Jay-Z surprised fans today (September 3) with a virtual listening party called JAY-Z30, streaming live at JAYZ30.com at 2 PM ET. JAY-Z30 is a year-long celebration from Roc Nation marking 30 years since Jay-Z's first album, Reasonable Doubt, and 25 years since The Blueprint, one of his most famous records. Anyone who tunes in also gets a shot at winning a rare vinyl test pressing.

The timing isn't random. The listening party lands one day before Jay-Z kicks off two sold-out shows at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, on September 4 and 5.

Is New Jay-Z Music Coming?

Jay-Z hasn't said what's actually going to be played at the listening party, and there's no official word on new music. But since it's tied to a "30" anniversary campaign and lands right before a huge sold-out run of shows, plenty of fans are hoping it means his long-rumored next album, his 14th, is finally getting close. For now, that's still just fan speculation. Nothing's been confirmed.

What Beyoncé Did

Beyoncé also had news today. She released B'Day (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition), a remastered version of her 2006 album B'Day, and she picked her own birthday, September 3, to do it, a day ahead of the album's actual 20th anniversary.

The deluxe edition comes with new Spanish-language songs, including "Cuerpo Tumbao (Get Me Bodied)," her first-ever collaboration with Colombian star Maluma, which samples Celia Cruz's classic "La Negra Tiene Tumbao." There's also "Irreemplazable (Como La Flor)," a mashup of the Spanish "Irreplaceable" with the late Selena Quintanilla's "Como La Flor," approved by Selena's estate, plus other new versions, including a Norteña remix of "Irreplaceable." The whole album has been remastered in 4K, and the original 13-song record has grown into a 31-track deluxe edition.

B'Day's #1 Most-Streamed Song

Out of every song on B'Day, "Irreplaceable" is by far the most streamed, with over 81 million streams this year alone, way ahead of the album's next-biggest track. It's the song that turned B'Day into one of Beyoncé's biggest records, and it's still getting new versions almost 20 years later.
