The Weeknd beat Elton John's total by roughly $360 million. That makes his tour the highest grossing ever by a solo male artist.
The run started in July 2022 in Philadelphia. It first passed $1 billion in November 2025, at about $1.004 billion, 7.55 million tickets and 153 shows.
The final numbers are bigger. The tour sold more than 9 million tickets across 176 shows in 67 cities, 30 countries and five continents.
The last show was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and the tour wrapped this week.
What Separates Eras at $2 Billion From the Weeknd
The gap is roughly $700 million. Eras grossed over $2 billion, and the Weeknd finished over $1.3 billion.
That doesn't take much away from his run. Some of the numbers are huge on their own.

Why Solo Male Artist Is the Record He Holds
The record covers solo male artists only. Swift is a solo female artist, and Coldplay is a band, so neither counts here.
That's why the Weeknd holds it even though he's third overall. The old mark was Elton John's $939 million.
The tour also gave back. It raised $8.5 million for the XO Humanitarian Fund and Global Citizen, with another $3 million in 2026 going to the UN World Food Programme and Global Citizen.
