Mariah Carey's Glitter vinyl is out now, and it's the album's first vinyl pressing since 2001. The limited Glittering Pink 2LP adds 3 bonus tracks, while the Midnight Purple 2LP is the standard album. Here's which edition has which songs, why vinyl matters here, and what you can only get digitally.

Glitter Vinyl vs Digital Deluxe: Which Edition Has What

The limited Glittering Pink 2LP adds "Out Here On My Own," "Never Too Far/Hero (Medley)" and "Loverboy (Firecracker – Original Version)." The Midnight Purple 2LP is the standard album, so it leaves out all three of those songs and any other extras.

The 25th anniversary edition came out October 30, 2026, via Def Jam and UMe. Here's how the three versions compare:

Three Bonus Tracks on the Glittering Pink 2LP

The pink pressing is the one to get if you want extras on vinyl. It adds three songs to the album.

Retailer pages disagree on the exact side listings. So we're skipping which song sits on which side.

The Midnight Purple 2LP and What It Leaves Out

The Midnight Purple 2LP is the standard version of the album. It comes on purple vinyl, but it doesn't have the three pink-only bonus tracks.

It also leaves out the digital extras. If you only want the original album on a record, this is the simple pick.

Digital Bonus Tracks You Will Not Find on Vinyl

The Digital Deluxe Edition adds 15 tracks and runs about 2 hours 1 minute. It includes rare recordings from Mariah's personal vault. She said, "We found a few recordings buried in the vault that I am really looking forward to sharing with you!"

Confirmed vault tracks include these, and none are among the three vinyl bonus tracks:

There are new team-ups too. Channel Tres remixes "All My Life," and Rochelle Jordan joins a reimagined "Didn't Mean To Turn You On."

MJ Cole and Club Of Love supply "Loverboy" remixes. There's also a rough demo of "Never Too Far."

The set closes with a Glitter medley recorded live on the 2019 Caution World Tour. We're only naming tracks that have been confirmed, so this isn't the full list of 15. (More: another deluxe edition explained.)

Why This Is Glitter's First Vinyl Since 2001

Glitter first came out on September 11, 2001. This is its first vinyl pressing since that year, so both 2LPs are a big moment for collectors.

Mariah says she's thankful for the people who stuck with it: "I'm endlessly grateful to my fans who kept championing it all these years, and I hope even more people can finally hear it for what it is."

A restored 4K "Loverboy" video, directed by David LaChapelle, also came out with the anniversary. (More: another 25th anniversary edition and its bonus tracks.)

Which Glitter Edition Suits Which Listener

Here's our take. If you want a record with a few extras, the Glittering Pink 2LP is the one.

If you just want the album on vinyl, the Midnight Purple 2LP does the job. If you want the rare vault recordings, remixes and the live medley, go digital.

Mariah Carey Glitter Vinyl FAQ

Is the Glitter vinyl limited?

The Glittering Pink 2LP is described as limited. We don't have a pressing number, so we can't say how many exist.

Does the standard Glitter 2LP include the bonus tracks?

No. The Midnight Purple 2LP is the standard album, and the 3 bonus tracks are on the Glittering Pink 2LP.

Is Loverboy (Firecracker) the same as the original single?

It's listed as the "Original Version," but we haven't confirmed how it compares to the single. Check the pressing details before you buy if that matters to you.

Can you hear the vinyl bonus tracks digitally?

Partly. The digital deluxe includes the "Never Too Far / Hero (Medley)" with Westlife, plus an "Out Here On My Own" alternate vocal take. We haven't confirmed "Loverboy (Firecracker – Original Version)" there, so check the Apple Music listing.
