New Christmas songs for 2026 started landing on November 6, led by Olivia Rodrigo's first-ever holiday single. Alanis Morissette and Sufjan Stevens put out holiday albums the same day. Here's every release so far by date, who made each one, and where to buy the physical copies.

Every New Christmas Release of 2026 by Date

The first new Christmas songs of 2026 arrived November 6. Olivia Rodrigo released her first holiday single, Alanis Morissette put out her first Christmas album, Sufjan Stevens shared a 16-track compilation, and violinist Nora Germain released a "White Christmas" duet. One more single is planned for November 20.

We'll add more as they're confirmed. (More: how Mariah Carey's 2026 Gucci Christmas campaign came together.)

Who Wrote and Produced "Take Me Home (4 Christmas)"?

Rodrigo wrote the song with Dan Nigro and Amy Allen. Nigro also produced it.

It came out through Interscope Records, her label. In the U.S., it went live on the evening of Thursday, November 5 (ET), which was already Friday in much of the world.

Where to Buy the "Take Me Home" Vinyl and Cassette

The single comes on an exclusive 7-inch vinyl and a cassette. Both are sold at oliviarodrigo.com.

The vinyl is also in stores from November 6. That makes it an easy stocking stuffer for a fan.

Alanis Morissette's First Christmas Album, Good Weather for Immaculate Conception

Alanis Morissette announced the album on October 9. It came out November 6, just 4 weeks later.

It's her first Christmas album. We've only confirmed the guests on the lead single, so we're not naming anyone else yet.

"Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" With Brandi Carlile and Steve Martin

The lead single is a duet with Brandi Carlile, and it also features Steve Martin.

The song is an old gospel hymn. Many listeners know it from the Judds' version.

One review says Carlile gives the duet a warmer, earthier feel. Her voice balances out Morissette's.

Sufjan Stevens' Worst Christmas Ever! on Bandcamp

Sufjan Stevens released his holiday compilation the same day, according to his official Bandcamp page. It has 16 tracks.

Most of them come from his box sets Songs for Christmas and Silver & Gold. That's a lot of music to dig through, so this is a shorter way in.

There's one new song: "On This Christmas (It Only Gets Better)." It had never been released before.

Is Olivia Rodrigo Up for UK Christmas Number 1?

Official Charts, the group behind the UK's music charts, calls Rodrigo's single one of this year's contenders for UK Christmas No. 1. That's the country's top song at Christmas, a race British fans follow every year.

Nothing is decided yet. This is just our guess, but an early release gives the song 7 weeks to grow.

Her fan base is huge right now, too. The Unraveled Tour has sold more than 1 million tickets.

We think a holiday song is a smart new lane for her. A good one can come back every December, long after the tour ends.
