Drake's mystery "FOMO" project finally dropped on September 15, and it wasn't an album, a tour, or even a single. It was a short film. Here's what actually happened, what's in it, and what Drake says is coming next.

So What Is FOMO, Actually?

FOMO turned out to be a short film. Drake called it a "not so short film" and described it as "self-funded surrealism." The story is about making the most of an entire summer. He said it was directed and scored by "the family," meaning his own inner circle, not outside directors or producers. It premiered live on YouTube at 9 p.m. ET on September 15, streaming at the same time on Spotify and Apple Music.

The Two New Songs

The film debuted two new songs, both featuring Don Toliver:

• "Fear of Missing Out" — a new song with Don Toliver, and the track the film is named after.
• A remix of "Choosin' Texas" — also with Don Toliver, plus Ella Langley. This confirms a rumor from before the livestream: fans had guessed Ella Langley might be connected to FOMO somehow, and she was.

There's no album here and no tracklist. FOMO is a short film with two songs in it, not a full project like ICEMAN, HABIBTI, or MAID OF HONOUR, the three albums Drake already released this year.

What It Actually Looks Like

The visuals lean surreal. One scene shows Drake driving a neon green-and-yellow speedboat while a woman narrates over the top, laying out two different versions of a life: one where you play it safe, and one where you don't. Full details on the runtime and who else appears in it haven't been confirmed.

What's Next for Drake

No tour was announced during the livestream itself. But right before FOMO premiered, Drake told Canadian entertainment show etalk that a tour is coming, along with "some big shows." No cities or dates yet, but it sounds like 2027 is when fans should expect to see him live again.

Either way, 2026 has already been Drake's biggest year yet. He released three albums on the same day back in May, and now he's closed out the summer with a surprise short film in September. If a tour really is next, FOMO might end up being the bridge between this year's flood of new music and however he decides to bring it on the road.
