Stage, a new David Bowie immersive concert experience, will have its world premiere in Berlin on February 14, 2027. It's built from restored 1978 tour footage that nobody has seen before. Here's the date, the ticket sale dates, and what the show actually is.

When and Where Is the David Bowie Stage Berlin Premiere?

If you want a seat, try the presale. A 17,000-seat room is big, but this is a one-time world premiere, so tickets will likely go fast.

We haven't seen ticket prices in the announcement. Check Eventim and the official site for the latest.

How Did Brett Morgen Find the Lost Isolar II Footage?

Director Brett Morgen found the original camera negatives while researching his 2022 Bowie film Moonage Daydream. That film premiered at Cannes in 2022 and was the first film sanctioned by Bowie's estate.

The negatives come from Bowie's 1978 Isolar II World Tour. On that tour, he performed material from "Heroes". The footage has now been restored and has never been shown before.

What's Actually New in David Bowie Stage?

Stage isn't a normal movie. It's an immersive concert experience: you watch Bowie's 1978 shows in a big room, not on a single screen at the front.

Here's what's in it:

It's a collaboration between Morgen, Rob Hallett's Wonderworld and the David Bowie Estate, with the Berlinale.

Outlets call it an "immersive concert experience," even though it's premiering at a film festival. We'll use that wording too.

Why Is a Berlin Film Festival Hosting a Bowie Show?

Berlinale Director Tricia Tuttle said a premiere in "a city so closely connected to David Bowie, makes the experience especially meaningful."

Morgen will also be a headline speaker in the European Film Market (EFM) talks program at the Berlinale. Details are still to come.

Will David Bowie Stage Play Anywhere Else?

The official announcement only covers Berlin. One report, citing NME, says more European shows may come in May 2027 and UK dates in June and July. That isn't confirmed, so treat it as a rumor for now.
