Radiohead Announce 2027 Asia-Pacific Residency Tour

Radiohead just announced a huge run of shows for 2027. They're heading to Australia and Japan for 21 total dates, split across four cities. It's the band's first tour of Australia in 15 years, and their first headline shows in Japan since 2008. Here's every date, how tickets work, and how long it's actually been since Radiohead last played live.

Every 2027 Tour Date

Instead of one-off shows, the band is playing several nights in a row in most cities, so this is being called a "residency tour."

• Perth, Australia — RAC Arena: May 3, 4, 6, and 7, 2027 (4 shows)
• Melbourne, Australia — Rod Laver Arena: May 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, and 20, 2027 (6 shows)
• Sydney, Australia — Afterpay Arena: May 25, 26, 28, 29, 31, and June 1, 2027 (6 shows)
• Saitama, Japan — GMO Arena: June 8, 9, 11, 12, and 13, 2027 (5 shows)

That's 21 shows across two countries, running from early May through mid-June 2027.

How Long Has It Been Since Radiohead Toured?

Radiohead don't tour often, and this announcement makes that clear.

Their last tour was a 20-show run across Europe that wrapped on December 16, 2025, in Copenhagen. That tour was already a big deal on its own, since it was the band's first tour in seven years. They hadn't toured at all since 2018.

So by the time these new shows kick off in May 2027, it will have been about a year and a half since Radiohead last played live.

Japan's wait is even longer. The band hasn't played a headline show there since October 2008. When they take the stage in Saitama next June, it will have been almost 19 years.

How to Get Tickets

Radiohead is trying to keep tickets away from scalpers and bots. Instead of a normal on-sale, fans have to register on the band's official website first, and only registered fans get a chance to buy. Registration for these shows opened on September 7.

Frontier Touring is handling ticketing for the Australian shows, and eplus is handling Japan. Each successful registration is capped at four tickets.

Why Australia and Japan, and Why Now?

This tour is part of a bigger plan the band has talked about. Guitarist Ed O'Brien has said Radiohead wants to tour one region of the world at a time, doing around 20 shows a year, instead of one massive world tour all at once. Europe got its run in 2025. Now it's Asia-Pacific's turn.
