Future's "Ya Hit" with Drake, Travis Scott, and Loe Shimmy is out now, and the lyrics are simpler than they sound. "Hit" works as a threat, a compliment, and a punchline. Here's what each verse is about, what Drake's album jab says, and which older songs to play next.

What Does "Ya Hit" Mean in the Song?

The phrase does two jobs. In the hook, "get hit" is a warning: mess with this crew and you'll pay for it.

In other lines, "she hit" is slang for looking good. So "hit" can mean violence, a compliment, or just "it's lit."

Future's Verse: Money, Threats and "the Zombie"

Future opens with a flex about money. He says he took back a G-Wagon and tells a woman to go find a new daddy.

Then he warns people not to play with "the Zombie" and calls himself a monster. The message: cross him and you get hit.

He also aims at "lames," meaning people who aren't on his level. The hook repeats that same idea: a woman talking to lames is making a mistake.

Who Is Drake Dissing on "Ya Hit"? The Album Jab Explained

Drake's verse mixes gang talk, flirting and one clear jab. Stereogum first flagged it as a subliminal, a diss that never says a name.

The lyrics back that up. He says the other person's album "ain't gettin' no better" and tells them to submit it.

Then he says his assistant gets paid the same as that person's advance. An advance is the money a label pays an artist up front.

So the jab is about album quality and pay. Earlier in the verse, he nods to Toronto with "The 6ix" and tells a friend to commit to the gang.

Who Could the Target Be? Our Best Guesses

Nobody has confirmed who it's about, and Drake hasn't said. These are just guesses.

The wording points to someone with a record deal and an album still in progress. "Submit it" sounds like a label turning in a finished project.

Kendrick Lamar is the obvious name people will say. He called out Drake on Future and Metro Boomin's "Like That" in March 2024, so the song's own history makes it easy to connect. But nothing in the lines points to him.

A$AP Rocky is another guess. In October 2025, social media assumed a Drake snippet had a subliminal aimed at him. That was also speculation, so treat it the same way.

Drake's Past Beefs: How We Got Here

Subliminals are nothing new for him. Here's the short version of his biggest feuds.

In 2015, his feud with Meek Mill took over much of the year. Meek accused Drake of using a ghostwriter, and Drake denied it in a 2019 interview.

In 2018, Pusha T released "The Story of Adidon," which revealed that Drake is a father. Drake later confirmed it was true.

The biggest one was Kendrick Lamar in 2024. After "Like That," Kendrick released "Meet The Grahams" and "Not Like Us" on May 3 and 4. "Not Like Us" accused Drake of pedophilia.

Drake took legal action against UMG and Spotify in November 2024. He alleged they conspired to inflate interest in the song, and UMG said that was untrue.

Why Future's Chanted Delivery Gets Compared to Playboi Carti

Stereogum describes Future's delivery as chanted. It compares that to Playboi Carti's goth-rap style.

Goth-rap is dark, moody rap with eerie beats. The comparison is one writer's take on the sound, not an official label.

What Does Travis Scott Rap About on "Ya Hit"?

Travis Scott's verse is full of flexes and pop-culture nods. He mentions a gun range at his ranch and repossessing a Hermès bag.

He also brags about driving like Tokyo Drift. And he says people who cross his crew "wouldn't survive," comparing it to GTA VI.

He closes by saying "this shit live as Twitch," a nod to live streaming. Then he loops back to the hook with "get hit."

He and Future go way back. Their work together includes "Solitaires," "Hold That Heat" (with Southside, April 2022), "Type Shit" and the "Franchise" remix.

In May 2025, HOT 97 reported a video of the two on a yacht with a mobile recording setup. The track wasn't identified and neither artist confirmed a project, so that's older context and not about "Ya Hit."
