Why Is the Daft Punk LEGO Pyramid Stage Trending?

A fan-designed model of Daft Punk's Alive 2007 stage just got the green light from LEGO. That's a big jump for a build that started as a hobby project.

Here's where things stand:

Approved: the set is an official LEGO product, announced October 22, 2026.
Not announced: the final design, the price and the release date.
Piece count: not confirmed for the official set. The fan version had 2,000 pieces.

So if you see a "buy now" link anywhere, be careful. Treat anything claiming a price or on-sale date as unconfirmed for now.

Who Built the Daft Punk LEGO Alive 2007 Pyramid?

The design came from Luxembourg-based fan builder Patrick Harboun, who goes by "RobotRock," and his son. It began in 2020 as a father-son lockdown project.

It won the Grand Prize in LEGO's global Music To Our Ears! challenge. It still wasn't made into an official set at that time.

Harboun then submitted the pyramid to LEGO Ideas in October 2024. By April 2025, it had reached the 10,000 supporters needed for review. That's the stage where LEGO tests playability, safety and fit with the brand.

His fan version is a 2,000-piece build. It has a rotating box of transparent bricks inside and a motor-powered light set that changes the stage's colour. The official set's piece count may differ, so the answer to "how many pieces is the Daft Punk LEGO set?" isn't final yet.

What Was Daft Punk's Alive 2007 Show?

The original concert took place in 2007 at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris. The glowing pyramid was the centerpiece of the stage.

Daft Punk creative director Cédric Hervé called the pyramid one of the most recognizable expressions of the duo's visual world. That's a big reason a LEGO version makes sense.

Is This Just the Start of Daft Punk x LEGO?

Yes. The pyramid is the first product of a wider Daft Punk x LEGO partnership. It covers products, content and brand experiences, and more details are due in 2027.

We don't know what else is coming. Any guess about a second set or a collab is just that: a guess, and nothing has been confirmed.

It also shows how a dance-music moment can take over the internet again. (More: NSYNC's viral dance is back, and BTS made it bigger.) If club culture is your thing, here's another one. (More: Madonna and Charli XCX's Danceteria after-hours night.)
