Anderson .Paak and Cordae's joint album Heavy Is The Crown is due October 23, 2026. It has 11 songs, and a lawsuit is trying to stop it. Here's the tracklist, who's behind the credits, and what the lawsuit says.
- Release date: October 23, 2026
- Songs: 11
- Released through: APESHIT, Mass Appeal and EMPIRE
- Lead single: "A Good Day," out since September 16, 2026
What Is the Heavy Is The Crown Tracklist?
Here are all 11 tracks, in order:
- "58th Floor"
- "Airbender"
- "I'm On"
- "A Good Day"
- "You're Mine"
- "Days Go By"
- "Crown"
- "Days Like This"
- "Karma Tax"
- "Helpless"
- "Godfather II"
Apple Music lists the same 11 songs, plus a video for "A Good Day."
Who Are J. Cole and 9th Wonder on Heavy Is The Crown?
This is the part that gets confused. The announcement graphic lists J. Cole, 9th Wonder, Conductor Williams and Swizz Beatz plus "more." It doesn't say which are guest rappers and which are producers.
Credits from Hip-hopvibe list those four as contributors. They also name FNZ, Hollywood Cole, Soul Rasheed, Caleb Oh and The Collective as production credits.
No source confirms a guest verse on any song. So treat J. Cole and 9th Wonder as contributors for now, and check the credits once the album is out.
There is one clear link to J. Cole. He produced the earlier Cordae and .Paak tracks "RNP" and "Two Tens."
When Did "A Good Day" Come Out?
"A Good Day" was released on September 16, 2026. It samples Bill Withers' "Lovely Day."
The video was directed by Dave Meyers. It's a homage to the film Friday, starring Jennifer Freeman.
Why Is Cordae Being Sued Over Heavy Is The Crown?
MMMG Inc. sued Cordae on October 15, 2026 in federal court in the Southern District of New York. It wants at least $25 million and an injunction to stop the release.
The defendants are Cordae, EMPIRE, APESHIT and Mass Appeal. Anderson .Paak is not named.
Some headlines say $15M. That's only one piece. The $25M is the total of three claims:
- $5M: copyright infringement over "A Good Day"
- $15M: breach of contract
- $5M: tortious interference, meaning interfering with a business deal
MMMG says it signed Cordae in April 2018 and that the deal still applies. The fight turns on whether it survived Atlantic ending its distribution deal with MMMG on September 2, 2025.
These are MMMG's claims, not court findings. None of our sources report a ruling, and the album is still scheduled for October 23.
