When Did Megan Thee Stallion's Thin Ice Come Out?

"Thin Ice" arrived on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. It's the latest drop in a weekly-style series built around her Tina Snow alter ego, which she introduced on her 2018 EP.

Here are the three freestyles so far:

  1. "Tina Tuesday Freestyle": September 29, 2026, over a sample of Mike Jones' "Still Tippin'."
  2. "Is You Cool?": released on a later Tuesday.
  3. "Thin Ice": October 20, 2026.

What Does Thin Ice Sample From Limp Bizkit?

The song is built on Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff," from the 1999 album Significant Other. That gives the freestyle a nu-metal edge, a rock-and-rap mix of heavy guitars and shouted hooks.

It opens with slowed-down vocals from Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst. Buddah Bless produced it. He also produced the first freestyle.

ACT III Still Has No Release Date: What We Know

On August 10, 2026, Megan posted images reading "ACT III" and "I'M BACK." No release date has been announced. The album was announced as coming through Interscope with Hot Girl Productions.

Stereogum described the first freestyle as a preview of ACT III. Nothing confirms that "Thin Ice" will be on the album, so treat that as a guess.

In a Marie Claire profile, Megan said she realized she wasn't going to drop a summer album. She wanted to take her time to record and write. She also said she "went through all the feelings" on the new record.

Why the Tina Tuesday Run Matters for Megan

Each freestyle uses a very different sample: Southern rap, then a new track, then nu-metal. That shows range, and it keeps her in the conversation while the album waits.

It's also a clear return of Tina Snow. Our guess is that the series is a warm-up for ACT III, but that isn't confirmed. For now, the only sure thing is a new freestyle every few Tuesdays.
