How Shakira Got Here
The Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour has been one of the biggest tours in recent memory. By October 2026, Shakira had played 86 shows, sold 3.3 million tickets, and grossed $421.6 million. That earned her a Guinness World Record for the highest-grossing tour by a Latin artist.
Madrid was the final stop. Shakira built a temporary stadium, Estadio Shakira, inside the Iberdrola Music complex in the city, specifically for the residency. The run started on September 18, 2026, and was originally scheduled for 12 shows through October 11.
Dua Lipa wasn't the first big guest. Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini, the Ghetto Kids, and Manuel Turizo all appeared on stage earlier in the residency. But the October 3 show was different.

What Made the Dua Lipa Shakira 'Antología' Duet Historic
"Antología" is a ballad Shakira originally released in 1995 on her album Pies Descalzos. It's more than 30 years old. And it still stopped a 50,000-person stadium cold.
The Madrid duet didn't appear out of nowhere. In November 2025, Dua Lipa was on her Radical Optimism tour, playing a show in Bogotá, Colombia. She covered "Antología" live as a tribute to Shakira. The clip spread fast. By the time Shakira's Madrid residency came around, fans had already made the connection between the two artists.
Almost a year later, the cover became a collaboration. Dua Lipa came to Madrid, and on October 3, the two performed "Antología" together for the first time. Dua Lipa wrote afterward: "I felt that you, me and the audience were one. So grateful to take home such a beautiful memory!" Shakira replied: "Thank you for coming all the way here especially to sing with me and share your talent and beauty with all of us!!"
The Amazon Music broadcast set the record: over 10 million viewers, the most for a female artist in Amazon Music history. The performance spread far enough that Shakira added a 13th and final show to the residency, extending the run to October 12, 2026.
